Steamplant was built as a working power plant in 1952, not a resort, which is why these residences feel like homes rather than hotel rooms. The building was rebuilt to modern standards in 2008 and now holds a small collection of private condominiums, eight blocks from Duval Street and a short walk from the Historic Seaport.Â

Every rental at Steamplant Key West is pet-friendly, so your dog comes along for the adventure and our team can arrange a walker while you are out exploring. Only six of our residences sit directly on the water, which makes them the most requested addresses we have. Ask early if a waterfront view matters to you.
Your Private Rooftop Pool
Every residence at Steamplant comes with its own private rooftop terrace, and nobody else has a key to it. Cool off in the plunge pool, fire up the gas grill, and eat your dinner out there beneath a covered lounge. From up here you get the harbor, the rooftops of Old Town, and the sunsets Key West is famous for.
Private Parking and Slips
Arrive and park in our secure, gated garage, where every residence includes two dedicated parking spaces and a private elevator that opens directly into your own home. Bringing a boat down with you? Slips are available at Conch Harbor Marina for vessels from 35 to 195 feet, a short walk from your own front door.

Twelve residences, and no two are laid out the same way. Below are the questions we hear most from people deciding which one to take. If yours is not here, call us. We would rather talk it through than have you book the wrong home.
How do I pick the right residence for my group size?
Start with how many people are coming and how much room you want between them. Our residences run from two bedrooms to three, and from single-level penthouses to three-story homes. Tell us your dates and your group and we will narrow twelve down to the two or three worth touring.
What is the difference between island, harbor, and ocean?
Island view looks over the tropical gardens and the rooftops of Old Town, which is the quieter outlook. Harbor view faces the working waterfront, the boats, and the old Coast Guard base. Ocean view faces open water. Only six residences sit right on the water, so those tend to go first.
Is there a minimum stay, and how long can I stay for?
We lease by the month and by the year, never by the night. One month is the shortest stay, and there is no practical ceiling on the other end. Seasonal residents, remote workers, and people between homes make up most of our guests, and a good many of them renew.
Does every residence really have its own rooftop pool?
Yes, every single one. Your rooftop terrace is yours alone, with a plunge pool, a gas grill, a covered lounge, and room to eat outside. No shared deck, no saving chairs at eight in the morning, no strangers. It is the thing guests mention most when they come back.
Can I bring my dog, and can I bring my boat down too?
Both, yes. Every residence is pet-friendly, and our team can arrange a dog walker for the days you are out on the island. For boats, slips are available at Conch Harbor Marina for vessels from 35 to 195 feet, just a short walk from the front door.
